he's almost 3 ... !!

Personal

i can't believe that my little baby will be 3 next wk. whenever i see pix of him, i realize how little he still is. most people think he's older than 3. he hangs well with the big kids, and his personality is so fun. these were taken at the end of october.

the elements of a perfect rock toss ... (taken in september)

and look at the lucky winner of harp's paci! he was so proud of himself for giving little miss B his paci since he's such a big boy now.

craving some warm sunshine

Personal

i nearly fell on my butt three times today from the ice, and then i came across some old photos. they were from my film camera, and i'm not much of a scanner, so they won't show up here :) then i came across the pix below. i'm sure it seems like jaeda is the favored child since she's always got an excess of photos on the blog ... not so, they're both equally spoiled. i'm just about 2 years behind on printing many, many photos. this winter is dedicated to catching up on my personal pix, it will be fun :) jae and i took a trip to NC a couple of years ago, just the two of us. it was so fun, and she still talks about it. i'm hoping to show harp the ocean soon, he'll love it.

harp stayed home while jae and i got away. look at the little guy. his eyebrows were crazy then, too :) harp at 10 months.

harp 6 months ago. love this photo. i think i've maybe posted it before, but came across it today and had to share again ...

and another sweet sunshiny photo of jae and her sweet BFF miss a, little models.

some good reads

Kids & Families

i've been going thru some pix from the past year and i'll be posting some favorites regularly ... enjoy!

a good couple of hours of my weekend was spent at Border's, and it's been way too long since i've done that. i picked up a great book : Eco-Friendly Families by Helen Coronato. if you have any interest at all in "greening" your life, this is such a great book! it's filled, cover to cover, with easy things to do. it has many ways that kids can be involved. it also puts you on a monthly plan so that you don't have to completely change your life at once ... take it step-by-step. it's incredibly informational.

i also picked up a new magazine (i think it's new?) : REAL SIMPLE family. i'm a huge fan of REAL SIMPLE, this is filled to the brim with family stuff. i love the way they organize the magazine in little sections, it makes it easy to skim thru. i love the photos. and i love the information. it's great :)

this issue had a bunch of great websites listed for parents and kids. i haven't checked them all out yet, but one that jumped out at me is http://www.handipoints.com. we've just reintroduced our 'reward chart' and it seems like this website may be a pretty cool alternative to the chart hanging on the wall ...

this is the first time in such a long time that i've picked up a book, so i'm pretty pumped. i'm also reading thru Annie Leibovitz at Work, which is also a great read. if you have any good reads (books or magazines) that you've come across lately, please share!!
